The Western Stock Show Association (WSSA) is in search of hard working, highly motivated individuals to join our team for the 2024 National Western Stock Show.
Who We Are
Founded in 1906, the Western Stock Show Association aims to invest in future generations by promoting youth and community development through livestock and equestrian education, innovation, entertainment, and competition. We are best known for putting on the annual National Western Stock Show, which has called Denver its home since the 1890s.
What We Do
Members of our Building Repair team work closely with Event Staff to complete a variety of tasks relating to the events hosted at the National Western Complex. Assignments will vary on a daily basis, dependent on the needs of upcoming events and activities. This job will keep you busy, and no two days will be the same!
As a Maintenance Technician, you will partner with members of the Building Repair and Event Operations teams to complete basic repairs and upgrades to the National Western Complex. Typical tasks include painting, completing structural and mechanical repairs, and heavy equipment operation.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a seasonal position for the months of December 2023 and January 2024.
What You Need
To be successful in this role, candidates should have experience with various types of property maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and cosmetic repairs. As the Maintenance Technician will regularly have to operate equipment (forklifts, skid-steers, golf carts, etc.), candidates will need to be familiar with this equipment and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
The Building Repair Maintenance Technician must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be comfortable with working indoors, outside in all weather conditions, and around animals. Fluency in the English language is required.
Scheduling flexibility is a must – Maintenance Technicians may need to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends, up to 12 hours per day. Candidates must be available to work the majority of the 16 days of the Stock Show (January 6th – January 21st).
All job offers are contingent on the successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test. Candidates must be 18 or older to apply.
